Palm Beach County Provides up to $100,000 Aid for First-Time Homebuyers

This money comes from the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) and is aimed to cover various costs. If you're buying your first home, this program could help with the price of the house, building a new place, the initial down payment, or the closing costs.
The key thing is, you need to live in the house you buy - it should be your main place to stay.
Starting May 5th at noon, the county will accept applications online. But you'll need to hurry; the application window closes on May 23rd at midnight, or after the first 100 applications have been submitted.
They're handling applications on a first-come, first-served basis, as long as there's still money left. This assistance comes as a kind of loan that doesn't need to be paid back right away but is tied to your house through legal paperwork.
To qualify, you'll need to have already been approved for a first mortgage loan. You can apply via the Palm Beach County Government's website, where all the details are provided.
Before you jump in, there's a chance to get all your questions answered. The Housing and Economic Development department is holding several meetings before the application period opens. Here are the schedules for those meetings:
- Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 10:00 am
- Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 12:30 pm
- Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 2:00 pm
- Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 4:00 pm
- Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 3:30 pm
They'll be held online through WebEx, with more information available on the department's program website.
If you need more information or have any questions, you can contact the Mortgage and Housing Investments Division at (561) 233-3600 or send an email to HEDverify@pbc.gov.
